Pegasus is the famed winged horse of Greek mythology, a figure which has come to symbolize poetry and the creator of the sources from which poets draw inspiration. The Rancho Solano mascot is also a horse: the mustang. For these reasons we have chosen Pegasus as the name for the Rancho Solano Preparatory School literary magazine and high school newspaper. It is our hope that, like the titular winged horse, the creativity of our student body will continue to take flight through these publications.

Hello, Mustangs!
After yet another fulfilling summer, a new school year is upon us, and with it comes another year of Pegasus Monthly! I’m Sage Bianchi, and I’m excited to serve as this year’s Editor-in-Chief. My goal is to make each edition of Pegasus a fun and enjoyable way to stay up to date on what’s happening around the Rancho community, while also giving our wonderful journalists a place to share their stories and writing.
I’d like to give a special thank you to Mr. Kotila for helping me tremendously through the array of technical difficulties that arose while putting together this first issue. I’d also like to thank Mrs. McCarty for all of her support. She truly is the backbone of Pegasus and has been an incredible help throughout the process.
To my student readers: I know this time of year can be a little overwhelming, especially with college applications for seniors and hefty deadlines for everyone. But, like anything else, this too shall pass. In the meantime, take a break from the stress and enjoy the August/September edition of Pegasus Monthly!
